1) भास होणे (Hallucination) :-

• ऐकण्याचे भास (Hearing Voices) : आवाज ऐकू येणे. 

• स्वत:सी पुटपुटने (Muttering to self) : जणु काही समोर कोणी तरी आहे अशा प्रकारे बोलणे. 

• दिसणयाचे भास (Seeing Images) : चित्र विचित्र माणसे / छाया / भूते दिसतात असे वाटणे. जुने / मृत व्यक्ति भेटायला आले आहेत असे दिसणे.

• वासाचे भास (Olfactory / Offensive Smell) : घाणेरडा वास काहीही कारण नसताना येत राहणे.

• What is Schizophrenia ?

As per fourth edition of Diagnostic & Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM-IV) schizophrenia is described as “a disturbance that lasts for at least 6 months and includes at least a month of active - phase symptoms (that is, two (or more) of the following.

: delusions

: hallucinations

  : disorganized speech 

: grossly disorganized and catatonic behavior, 

: negative symptoms “

What is a delusion ? (Simplified for Common Man)

What is a delusion ?

Delusion is fixed form false belief which is not keeping with social beliefs.

Delusions are irrational thoughts which are not in connection with reality. (Art-Dr Nishikant Vibhute)

How are delusions formed ?

Delusions are usually formed out of blue, without any realistic reasons.

The neurotransmitters which increase in certain disorders lead to formation of delusions.

Since they are formed inside patient's brain, patient fails to understand , that these delusions are not in touch with reality.

In which conditions delusions are seen ?

Usually these are unrealistic thoughts which are automatically generated by brain due to certain neurotransmitter imbalance in different psychological conditions like Schizophrenia, Bipolar Mood Disorder, Delusional Disorder, Substance (Drugs& Alcohol) abuse, etc.
